Pictures of the Aftermath

The Third Surgery

I've broken this down into three general sections: pictures relating to the accident scene, pictures of my dead bike, and pictures of me & my wounds. If you have a weak stomach, don't look at the pictures of my leg. They're fuzzy, but they're kinda gross. You have been warned.

Cleaning Up The Wounds...AGAIN
More, more, and more. I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of taking these pictures, let alone looking at them. But I'm a good boy and I do what my lawyer tells me to...

From Left to Right...

  • Full leg shot showing the reopened (again) knee wound at the top and the screw insertion incision slightly south of that. You can kind of see my brand-new huge scar-to-be on the right side of the photo about halfway down my leg.
  • Calf shot showing one of the two new incisions, this being the longer of the two. This cut was made so the doc could get in and saw off about a 1" long section of my fibula.
  • Knee shot.
  • Ankle shot showing the 2nd of the two new cuts. Compare to this photo from December 1999 of the same area. See? Turns out once the doc opened the two small scars (where screws were inserted in the original surgery), he couldn't find the screws. As a result, he sliced it open a bit more so he could dig around better. He did find the screws, by the way, and I have them.
